The
closest thing to a wet room shower
while using a shower tray.
There are
several ways to reduce the step in
height to a shower. You can
construct a Wet Room where the
shower becomes an integral part of
the floor of the room which will of
course give you a zero step. Or you
could
rebate a low profile shower tray
into the bathroom floor so it is
level with the surrounding area. As
with many things in life there is a
trade-off with each - cost vs
efficacy.
Rebating an
ordinary low
level tray into the floor has drawbacks. Although quicker to
install than a wet room area, it can be difficult to seal
the joint between the tray and the
adjacent floor. Should there be a
leak it may be a while before you
find out as water always escapes
downward without much initial fuss.
This Super-ultra low
level shower tray could be the
solution to quick installation,
near level access and excellent integrity
against water leaks.
With just a
4.5mm thick flanged edge, this ultra
low profile shower tray installs to
a rebate in the floor but the flanged
edge sits over
the adjacent floor where a good
water seal can be achieved - in effect
becoming a hybrid of the wet room
and recessed tray concepts and
sharing the best qualities of each.
This
Super-ultra low profile shower tray
has an upstand on the edges nearest
to adjacent walls, which themselves
have a tiling upstand to ensure bone
dry performance.
Once installed,
there is only a 4.5mm lip over which
the user needs to step. This almost
non-existent lip make this range of
trays excellent for wheelchair
access.
