Anti-scalding device - guarantees safe temperature
at your taps.
Thermostatic Safety Valves are becoming necessary in
the home and are under discussion with a view to making them law. They prevent accidental scalding and injury and fit discreetly
under the bath or sink. The TMVA (Thermostatic Mixing Valve Association) has
been working with many associations including the Child Accident Prevention
Trust in order to make homes safer. Saracen Thermostatic Valves are a type 2
TMV and will effectively protect against hot water
related injuries. Thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs)
are also known as thermostatic blending valves. They should not be confused
with thermostatic control - as you might find on a shower valve.
Thermostatic control will regulate water temperature, that is to say hold it
at a stable temperature +/- 1 degree typically. A TMV prohibits water from
passing through in excess of the temperature set on the valve. It is
a temperature limiting device. Fitting or using a TMV will not provide
thermostatic shower control. Whilst the resulting properties may be similar
the control offered by these two types of valve is entirely different. |
