Hints and Tips on Bathroom Design

Things you should consider when designing a bathroom

If you're planning a new bathroom, consider the following before committing yourself to a purchase....

Ask yourself

  • What you like and dislike about your existing bathroom?
  • What products you want to include in your new bathroom?
  • What, if any are the special needs of the users in your new bathroom?
  • How much do you want to spend?
  • Don't forget your decorating and installation costs.
  • What colour will your new bathroom suite be and what colour will you use for the decor?
  • What style do you want to create? Contemporary, Nostalgic?
  • What feel do you want? Fresh, Happy, Lively, Soothing, Sophisticated?
  • What wall coverings will you use? Wallpaper, Paint, Tiles, Panelled?
  • What type of floor covering will you choose? Carpet, Tiles, Vinyl, Wooden?
  • Who will carry out the installation work?

When you have a clear idea in which direction you wish to proceed move on to the next step. Remember, one step at a time. Bathrooms are not cheap, labour is expensive. Think your job through thoroughly before you begin. This will save you much time, trouble and expense by avoiding last minute changes of heart.

A well designed bathroom will add tremendous appeal and value to your property. So take your time and do your job with pride.
